Live holy and godly lives because the end is near and the end will be destructive to the earth. I suppose this calls us to live each day as if it was our last, because it just may be. I personally need to refocus each morning to not let the worries of the future, beyond common-sense preparation, keep me from living each day in a godly way. The incentive I guess is to hold secure our place with God? The end of this chapter troubles me because it seems to suggest that my salvation is not enough to "hold my place." Perhaps I am reading too much into that though.
