To me it means keeping a "kingdom perspective" in life. If I'm worried about getting this or achieving that for myself, not for God's glory and in his will, then it's all rubbish. It will all pass away and then I'll have nothing in eternity. But if I live for God's glory in this life then I get the reward of his presence for eternal life. I can't serve 2 masters, if I'm devoting my time, service, gifts, and money to the world then it's not going to God. If he really has my heart, then I should be giving him those things.
