There are thousands of people in our community right now who are hungering for the spiritual food of Jesus Christ. What is our church doing to feed them? What are you, personally, doing to feed them?

I think it is harder for me personally to "feed" people spiritual food in my community that to go out into other communities where I am not known. In my own community, I'd rather play it safe, not offend anyone, not make anyone uncomfortable by bringing up spiritual matters. I find it much easier to "shake the dust from my sandals" in company that I may not meet again than in company I will have contact with over and over again. I have friend who does not know the saving grace and Jesus, and while I have invited her and her family to church (which they declined) I have not found a way to witness to them comfortably beyond being a friend and perhaps a worthy example of a Christian. I guess the key word there is "comfortably." So, my tension in feeding the spiritually needy is one between boldly proclaiming what I know is the truth and maintaining meaningful relationships with those that are needy while waiting for the Holy Spirit to open the opportunity to share my faith in more detail.
