Mark 4 (New International Version)
Contemplate the following questions and ideas during and after you read the chapter. Feel free to write your thoughts in a follow up to this post (keep in mind your posts will be available to the public).
In 4:35-41, the disciples discover that even when Jesus doesn't seem to be fully with them, they must trust him. Do you trust Jesus completely, even in the times he doesn't seem to be fully with you? What is the serendipity, the joyful surprise, in trusting Jesus completely?

I am pretty sure that I don't trust Jesus as much as I should. I tend to want to fix things myself. However, I do know that the awesome blessings and abundant joy I have received when I have trusted him is worth putting myself aside and giving the situation to Jesus. The surprising joy is that whatever Jesus does with my situation, however long it takes to resolve, will be wonderful. This makes me hopeful and gives me the courage to trust him more and more.
