In general I am most worried about modeling and teaching appropriate and Godly behavior for my girls. I know that we have to live in the world but not to be of it, and I want to badly for them to recognize authenticity when they see it. I want them to be able to spot divisive, selfish, or immoral behaviors and attitudes so that the temptation for them to go along with it isn't so bad. I realize this isn't along the same lines as material concerns that the passage deals with, but I guess at the heart of it this passage teaches that material possessions, even needs like food and clothing, are God's gift to us. He takes care of us and if we are truly trying to live a Godly life, we trust in His superior judgment to give us want we truly need. So if my girls can learn that, perhaps they will not chase after or succumb to attitudes or behaviors that are not Godly.
